Blood pressure is the force exerted by the blood against the walls of the arteries that carry blood to all parts of the body. It is measured as two numbers-systolic pressure and diastolic pressure. The systolic pressure is the blood pressure measured while the heart beats whereas the diastolic pressure is the pressure when the heart relaxes.

Earlier, the level of 130/90 mm Hg was used as normal blood pressure but scientists have corrected it by changing to 120/80 mm Hg which is now called the ideal pressure for a person in good health.

Hence, a small deviation can be considered as normal blood pressure.

Generally, if the person doesn’t have normal blood pressure s/he will be suffering from hypertension. Hypertension might not seem too dangerous but can cause a lot of problems. The greatest risk that it brings is that of heart diseases. If you have a sustained state of hypertension, you need to look at ways to reduce it.
