Heavy D Cause of Death Unknown Pending Coroner’s Autopsy Results

OS ANGELES (LALATE) – Heavy D’s cause of death remains unknown pending a Los Angeles Coroner’s autopsy results. Heavy D cause of death did not involve foul play, officials confirm to news. Unconfirmed news reports claim that Heavy D might have died from a heart attack. Heavy D was found dead in Beverly Hills  today. He was 44 years old.

Heavy D was initially alert after suffering breathing problems Tuesday. TMZ reports that Heavy D had been shopping in Southern California when he returned to his Beverly Hills home this morning. A resident in Heavy D’s building saw him experiencing shortness of breath. The witness called 911.

Heavy D remained standing while grasping for air, TMZ reports. Unconfirmed reports claim that Heavy D may have suffered a heart attack. Officials have yet to confirm the same.

Heavy D (real name Dwight Arrington Myers) had been shopping Tuesday morning, and returned to his residence around shortly after 11 am. The witness spotted Heavy D and called 911 at 11:25 am.

He was quickly transported from his residence located in the 400 block of North Maple Drive in Beverly Hills to Cedar Sinai Medical Center. Less than two hours he was declared dead.

Spokesman Craig Harvey tells IBTimes that an autopsy is scheduled potentially as early as Wednesday. “It’s in its infancy stage right now. We don’t have a lot of other information,” Harvey said. “Our guess is that the examination could occur as early as tomorrow, and any final cause of death would be deferred pending a toxicology test.”
